Phaltan, located in the Satara district of Maharashtra, India, is a town that serves as a tehsil and a municipal council. It is situated approximately 59 kilometers northeast of Satara city and around 110 kilometers from Pune. During the British colonial period in India, Phaltan held the status of a non-salute Maratha princely state under the central division of the Bombay presidency.

The Palkhi Mahamarg project represents a significant endeavor for the state of Maharashtra, as it aims to simplify and enhance the Palkhi and Wari traditions that have been practiced in the region for centuries. The term “Vari” holds cultural importance in Maharashtra. Both palanquin routes have been designated as highways to ensure that the journey of pilgrims who pay homage to Shri Vithoba, the revered deity of Maharashtra, is pleasant and convenient.

Off-site Construction

Through the utilization of modern construction methods, we are able to deliver projects faster, safer, and more efficiently. Our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation enables us to incorporate new advancements in project execution.

We are implementing the innovative technology of Ultra-High-Performance Fiber Reinforced Concrete (UHPFRC). In fact, RKC will be the first Indian contractor to construct a 100-meter single-span UHPFRC bridge in the country.

Innovative Pavement Engineering

Additionally, we are employing innovative pavement engineering techniques by utilizing Cement Treated Sub-base Course as a substitute for traditional granular sub-base. This approach helps us achieve the desired strength, functionality, and cost-effectiveness in pavement design, while also improving the overall lifespan of the pavements.

Sustainable Design

Sustainable design and collaborative working are at the forefront of RKC’s approach in executing the project. We meticulously plan the pavement, structures, and carriageway designs to align with sustainability goals and deliver optimal performance throughout the project’s lifecycle. This ensures that our outcomes contribute positively to sustainability, functionality, and overall project success.
