Sillod, located approximately 40 kilometres away, is in close proximity to the world-renowned Ajanta Caves. These caves, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are renowned for their ancient Indian paintings and are considered masterpieces of Buddhist religious art. The construction of the caves took place in two phases, with the first phase commencing around the 2nd century BCE and the second phase occurring between 400 and 650 CE according to earlier accounts, or within a short span of time between 460 and 480 CE according to more recent research. The Ajanta Caves have been under the care of the Archaeological Survey of India as a protected monument, and since 1983, they have been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The project being undertaken will enhance connectivity between Aurangabad and the Ajanta Caves, resulting in a reduction in travel time by more than 40%.

Sustainability built on collaboration

Built on the foundation of collaboration, sustainability has been prioritized in this project. Drawing on our expertise from previous sustainability initiatives, including the design and construction of similar projects, the Aurangabad-Sillod Road Project has incorporated state-of-the-art sustainability features.
Through close cooperation with our client, the project team has developed a solution that brings satisfaction to the local communities and residents. Key aspects of the project include the implementation of energy-efficient lighting, measures to improve air quality, promotion of sustainable transportation, effective stormwater management, and enhanced landscape design.

Intelligent Asset Management

Intelligent asset management has been an integral part of the project. Upon completion of the construction phase, the digital engineering model was updated to accurately represent the final outcome. This model has been utilized to create a web-based asset management system for the client.
It contains valuable information related to toll collection, traffic data, accident prevention systems, and speed sensors, ensuring efficient management and maintenance of the project’s assets.
