Gadchandur is a city and Municipal Council in Korpana Tashil Chandrapur district, Maharashtra, India. Gadchandur is surrounded by cement factories, Manikgarh Cement , Ultratech Cement, Dalmia Cement and Maratha Cement Works( Ambuja Cement).
The improvement of the project route will enable enhanced logistics of industrial vehicles and increase the productivity of transportation in the vicinity. RKC is upgrading the road of 74 kms with flexible and rigid pavements along with the installation of ATMS (Advanced Toll Management Systems).
Expanded Expertise
To achieve the smoothest of finishes in Pavements & RCC Structures, asphalt & concrete specialists used laser-controlled technology to perfect the static & dynamic formworks, & shuttering for RCC crafted offsite in a controlled environment. This was then transported to the project, where structural components such as the Foundation, Substructure & Super Structure and were poured in situ.
Intelligent logistics
At peak there were 625 people working on site and up to 100 vehicle movements per day. Materials movement was a serious challenge, as the existing terrain having difficult accesses.
During the construction and fit-out period there was no possibility for onsite storage, and tight synchronization of deliveries using just-in-time methods was essential.
Working closely with the local community
Construction also brought a range of social and economic benefits to the region, with 45% of our workforce living within daily travel of the site. We worked in close partnership with the local residents to help it restart its delayed stretches.
Revolutionizing Worker Welfare
Our approach to welfare raised standards within the State and industry wide. We offered the best facilities possible for a peak workforce of over 625 – achieving high employee satisfaction and boosting productivity. We also established contractors’ forums and training centers to enhance health and safety awareness. And to help optimize logistics in ‘real time’, we installed each transport vehical with a GPS/GPRS system to track real time progress.
